Calls to Action

You’ve all seen them. Click Here, Register, Buy Now, Contact Us, Sign Up, Download Here, Donate, and so on. What are they? They are calls to action on a website. They usually look like colorful large buttons or arrows that direct the behavior of website visitors. They are usually displayed in a prominent position near the top or center of the page so you don’t have to scroll to find them. They make you want to do something!

When you first launched your website you probably had a goal in mind. Most businesses want their website to generate leads. Calls to action can do just that. They can turn visitors into customers. Does your website have calls to action? Take a look at each page of your website and ask yourself–what does this page direct a visitor to do? Is it obvious? Does it generate leads?

Each page of your website should have a call to action that is related to the content on that page. It needs to make sense. And there should be only one call to action on a page. You certainly don’t want calls to action to compete with each other.

Calls to action are the website’s version of asking a customer for the business. They are easy to create and they can turn your website into a 24/7/365 lead generating machine.
